Sports groups that call Vancouver Island home are gearing up to score gamegoers tickets to Taylor Swift concerts happening later this year on B.C.’s mainland.

The Victoria HarbourCats, Nanaimo NightOwls, Cowichan Valley Capitals and Champ Promotions, which organizes professional boxing events, are each giving away two tickets to the pop singer’s upcoming shows in Vancouver.

Swift, who just won her 13th Grammy for album of the year, is bringing her The Eras Tour to BC Place on Dec. 6-8, but tickets are “high-in-demand (and expensive!)” according to the HarbourCats in a release Wednesday.

So the four groups have teamed up with B.C.-based Maxxam Insurance to give away tour tickets — eight in total — at their upcoming sporting events.

While this may appeal to Swifties who are also baseball, hockey or boxing fans, they should plan ahead if they want to win, says the HarbourCats in the release.

“…it might be wise to get tickets to all of the events to increase your odds. These events will sell out, so get your tickets as soon as you can,” it reads.

How to win:

Champ Promotions

The first event is happening on May 11, when Champ Promotions will host a Round 4 at Pearkes Recreation Centre in Victoria. Every ticket purchased for this event will earn an entry into the Swift tickets draw.

“Champ Promotions – Round 4 is not only your first opportunity to win Taylor Swift tickets, but also your best odds. There are only 1700 tickets to be sold for the May 11th event, and someone will leave that night with a pair of tickets,” the release says.

Round 4 tickets are available here.

HarbourCats

Tickets to each game in an upcoming HarbourCats four-game series, happening from June 25-28, will earn an entry into the Swift draw. Winners will be announced near the end of the last game at Victoria’s Royal Athletic Park, and game tickets purchased by March 30 will receive a bonus entry into the draw.

NightOwls

Then, in July, tickets to each game in a three-game NightOwls series will earn an entry into the Swift draw. The series is happening July 8-10 at Serauxmen Stadium, and the tickets will be drawn at the end of the game on the 10th.

“When fans enter the park, they will get an entry form to add to the draw barrel,” reads the release.

It adds that tickets purchased by March 30 will also receive a bonus entry into the draw, while new season ticket holders and existing holders who renew and pay in full by March 31 will receive two bonus entries.

Cowichan Valley Capitals

According to the release, the Duncan-based Cowichan Valley Capitals will announce dates for its prize draw shortly after the BCHL 2024-25 season schedule is revealed.

“Follow the Cowichan Capitals on Facebook or Instagram to be the first to be notified when the eligible game tickets will go on sale!” the release adds.

Swift tickets a popular prize

Recently, the Victoria Royals gave away tickets to local Swifties — and the winning mom and daughter duo told CHEK News they never expected to win.

“I love her so much and love her music. I love the words. She has such good lyrics. She always puts personality into the songs, and I love the beats,” said Henley Woods, marvelling about Swift after winning the tickets.

The Eras Tour, which kicked off in the U.S. last March and will span at least two years, has become one of the most lucrative shows in history. Even B.C. Premier David Eby suggested the singer make a stop in B.C. after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau asked her to come to Canada.

Swift is known for her songs like “Shake It Off,” “Bad Blood” and “Anti-Hero.”
