Saanich police are hoping people with dashcam footage will come forward to help with an investigation into a daytime robbery on McKenzie Avenue.

In a release, police say a man was walking along McKenzie in the 1400 block at 3:45 p.m. on Sept. 11 when three men on bicycles approached him.

The men then produced a weapon and demanded money. Police say the man did hand over money, but are not disclosing the amount.

The three men then rode away towards Cedar Hill Road.

One man is described as roughly 30 years old, wearing a black vest, blue pants, a red hat with spikes and sleeve tattoos on both arms.

A second man is described as roughly 30 years old wearing a black t-shirt, blue pants and a red hat with spikes.

No description is available for the third man.

“While the victim was not physically injured, this was a frightening interaction and very brazen considering it took place in a very busy area,” said Const. Markus Anastasiades in a news release.

Anyone in the area between 3:30 and 4 p.m. on Sept. 11 is asked to check for dashcam footage that shows the suspects, and to contact the Saanich Police Department at 250-475-4321 if you have information.
