Memorabilia belonging to a longtime B.C. boxing coach that was stolen over the weekend has been found in a dumpster.

The items, which included two championship belts, a brown leather bag, boxing gloves, boxing trophies and a BC Boxing Team jacket, were taken sometime overnight on Sept. 9 from Bob Pegues’ vehicle. He had parked the vehicle in the parking lot of Rosedale Manor apartment on Departure Bay Road. He realized his vehicle had been broken into in the morning.

On Wednesday, Pegues told CHEK News, an employee removing trash from a dumpster at his apartment building found all of the items in the bin.

Pegues had recently moved to Nanaimo from Prince George after running a boxing gym in that city for 20 years.
