WATCH: Victoria Royals forward Igor Martynov potted two goals and added an assist to lead the Victoria squad past the Kelowna Rockets 4-3 on the road Friday night.

The Royals got off on the right foot; After a nifty move by Martynov behind the opposing net, Scott Walford’s point shot would find its way into the back of the net to give Victoria the early advantage.

Just 10 seconds later, Royals forward Tanner Sidaway would pounce on a Kelowna turnover and pick the top corner to give the Royals a lightning-quick 2-0 advantage.

After Martynov gave the Royals a 3-1 lead midway through the second, the Rockets tried for a late comeback push.

Luckily, the Royals still had some gas in the tank. Martynov would widen the gap to 4-2 midway through the third off a Walford rebound.

The Rockets would score with five minutes remaining, but would get no further as the Royals hung on for the 4-3 win.

The Royals continue their interior road trip on Saturday night as they take on the Kamloops Blazers. Full highlights to come tomorrow on CHEK.
