A recall has been issued for three brands of heat pumps, and Health Canada says approximately 5,549 units of the affected products have been sold in the country.

In a notice, Health Canada says there is a risk that the product continues to provide heat despite being in cooling mode, posing a risk of excessive heat.

Daikin, Amana and Goodman brand heat pumps sold between May 2022 and April 2024 are affected by the recall.

Health Canada says there have been no reports of overheating injuries in Canada or the U.S.
