Inspiring Island Women: Life-long Union Bay resident and card shark spends lifetime giving back

She’s an Eastern Star and a Pythian Sister, tirelessly fundraising for charities. With the local Lions Club, of which she’s been a member for 75 years, she regularly pushed a wheelbarrow from Fanny Bay to Courtenay raising money.

Even today, at her home in Union Bay, where she’s spent all of her 94 years, Ann Pratt has boxes full of hundreds of dolls that she has restored and re-purposed, waiting to be donated to children in need.

She’s a killer card player, beloved by her friends, her family, and her community. Meet Ann tonight on this week’s edition of Inspiring Island Women.
