A building in downtown Victoria has suffered around $150,000 in damage, after a fire broke out in a former business early Saturday morning.

The Victoria Fire Department responded to the 1300-block of Broad Sreet at 4 a.m. following reports of the fire.

Thirteen firefighters and multiple vehicles were sent, and quickly confined the blaze to the one empty unit.

Smoke had spread throughout the building into several residences that were attached, but after the fire was put out occupants were allowed back into their homes.

No one was injured in the fire and crews were able to save the rest of the building, with a value estimated at one million dollars.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
