A car caught fire in an underground garage downtown Victoria, prompting a big response from fire crews.
A number of streets around the 600-block of Douglas Street were shut as a precaution to deal with the fire.
A spokesperson for the City of Victoria said fires in underground garages can be complex, so they send a large response until they know what they’re dealing with.
The underground garage fire in downtown Victoria was successfully extinguished with no major damage.
Crews remain on scene for cleanup.
VicPD says officers are assisting with traffic control, and it is unknown if it was accidental or suspicious at this time.
