Two people were transported to hospital following a rollover crash that snarled traffic on the Malahat Highway, reducing southbound lanes to just one, according to DriveBC.
Around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, DriveBC said the “multi-vehicle incident” happened in the southbound lanes between Whittaker and Shawnigan Lake roads.
It urged commuters to watch for emergency vehicles.
Google Maps, meanwhile, showed southbound traffic moving “slow” just north of Shawnigan Lake Road.
In an email, BC Emergency Health Services says paramedics provided emergency medical care to two patients who were transported to hospital.
Photos sent to CHEK News showed a grey SUV flipped onto its roof after the crash.
A CHEK News reporter on scene captured video of a female being loaded into an ambulance. Other footage showed RCMP on scene and the traffic backup, with fire crews directing drivers.
