A Victoria animal rescue service is looking for a home for a cat that’s been in its care for more than two years, nearly since its birth.

The Itty Bitty Kitty Committee is looking for someone to adopt a black cat named Tommy, who has been in various shelters and foster care for more than 850 days, or more than two years.

Tommy was rescued at just four weeks old and was ready for adoption by 10 weeks old, but he has struggled to find a home ever since.

“Are you looking for a handsome boy who LOVES snuggles?” wrote the rescue organization in a social media post on Monday.

“Tommy is what we like to call in the industry a ‘Level 5 clinger.’ He wants to be where you are, day and night. He will sit on your lap, sleep with you and overall be your best buddy.”

The Itty Bitty Kitty Committee says Tommy is good with all humans, including children, but isn’t a fan of other cats or dogs.

Staff say he would require a home where he is the only pet, where he can “truly be the king of the castle.”

The rescue organization says Tommy, who’s about 2.5 years old, “thinks he’s a bird and likes to jump and ride on your shoulder.”

More information can be found on the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee website.

The organization adds that everyone should get their cats spayed or neutered since there are already a large number of cats looking for homes in the region.
