Search and rescue teams and RCMP in the Youbou area are on the lookout for a missing man who was last seen early Sunday morning.

Lake Cowichan RCMP says Nicholas Marion left 11439 Youbou Rd. around 6:30 a.m. Sunday, June 30, while visiting the area for the long weekend and hasn’t been seen since. Cowichan Search and Rescue (SAR) is actively looking for him.

“He is not familiar with the area, and had been visiting for the long weekend,” according to RCMP in a news release.

Marion is 6’0″ tall and weighs 174 lbs., says RCMP. He has black hair, brown eyes, and a short black beard.

Mounties add that he was wearing a black T-shirt, black light jogging pants, and black Nike Jordan 11 retro sneakers when he went missing.

“He has distinguishing neck tattoos as seen in the photo,” wrote Cowichan SAR.

In a Facebook post around 3:15 p.m. Monday, SAR said the search for Marion was ongoing in the Youbou area after he was last seen leaving a friend’s house.

Anyone with information as to Marion’s whereabouts or those who see him are asked to call Lake Cowichan RCMP at 250-749-6668 and reference file 2024-1151.
