The London Drugs on Yates Street in downtown Victoria.

London Drugs says it has reopened 40 of its stores so far, and aims to have the remaining 39 open by the end of day Tuesday.

Although the stores will reopen, the company says it will not be able to fill new prescriptions for customers.

“As we have communicated over the last few days, our store systems are necessarily complex, as is the need to connect with multiple third-party provider systems, all with different requirements to ensure a smooth and safe reconnection,” the company says in a statement. “We hope to have this rectified as soon as possible.”

On Sunday, there were five London Drugs on Vancouver Island that had reopened, then Monday morning a fifth Island location opened. The fifth reopening is the Tillicum Centre location at 3170 Tillicum Road.

The company says all of its Optical locations will reopen by the end of day Monday. The company will update its website on which stores are open.

London Drugs says it continues to work to bring all of its services and products back to regular capacity.

“We are only turning on systems after we and our external third-party cybersecurity experts have taken all recommended steps to ensure we have full confidence that the systems being used are safe and secure,” the statement says.

London Drugs says there continues to be no evidence that customer databases were compromised.

All of the London Drugs stores, even those that have not reopened, have a pharmacist on site to refill emergency prescriptions and access to Canada Post locations.

Additionally, the Insurance Services Call Centre is open.
