The Sooke School District says Royal Bay Secondary in Colwood experienced a COVID-19 exposure event on Jan. 15.

The Sooke School District is warning parents about a coronavirus exposure that occurred at one of their high schools.

Royal Bay Secondary in Colwood experienced a COVID-19 exposure after someone tested positive for the virus, according to the school district.

The potential exposure date was Jan. 15.

Island Health is completing contact tracing and parents who did not receive a letter sent out by Royal Bay Secondary are asked to contact the school.

“Royal Bay parents who did not receive the general notification letter sent by the school, please contact the school and double-check the contact information they have for you,” Sooke School District wrote in a post on social media.

The school district says it will not be releasing more information about the exposure.

It comes hours after Duncan Christian School announced that it will be closing operations until Feb. 1 due to multiple COVID-19 exposures.
