The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) is implementing Stage 1 water restrictions starting May 1, 2024.

The restrictions will apply to the Black Creek-Oyster Bay, Comox Valley, Royston and Union Bay Water Systems.

The restrictions under Stage 1 still allows for lawn and garden sprinkling between 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for even numbered addresses. Odd number addresses are allowed to water on Wednesday, Friday and Sundays during the same hours.

“Spring is upon us and it’s important to consider our water usage in all of our water systems,” explains Mike Herschmiller, manager of water services. “Although rain will likely fall over the next few weeks, we want to remind residents to consider how they use their water and encourage everyone to conserve wherever possible.”

Residents can visit the CVRD’s website for more information on the different water systems, water restrictions and watering schedules.
